i cannot log in to selective web sites.... it just times out, i cant stand it some times, im just about ready to tell microsoft to stick it where the Sun dont shine. ive checked for viruses/spyware/adware...

I would first check the hosts file and make sure those sites haven't been added to it and blocked there.
It's located in different folders, substitue your drive and Windows directory accordingly.

Windows XP = C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC
Windows 2K = C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC
Win 98/ME = C:\WINDOWS
