I love the LH icons. I'm going to start a little "project" tonight involving hacking the shell32.dll file in Windows XP, to change it to the default LH icons. If I do this, anyone interested in a copy?

I'd be interested. Let me know if I can be of any help. Hopefully I'll get a copy of Longhorn soon, so I can help out if you need me to. This soulds like a great idea, and I'm all for it!

BTW - If you send me the shell32 file for Longhorn, I can also help swap the icons if you want!

No- I have all the LH icons I need. It'll just be time-consuming to do all the icons (there are almost 400). If the mods have no problem, I'll put up a RAR for download, complete with replace instructions.

Can't you use "resource hacker" to swap out the resources? I rember seeing somewhere that you could use it. I'll try later and see if that works.

That's what I'm using. :whistle

As I said, it's time consuming because they have to be swapped one by one.

OK. Can't you export all the icons as a resource file, then replace the XP shell32 file with the imported resource file? Or are the icons not in the same order?
