Nvidia Has Raised the Bar
Assuming no foul play involved, driver cheats, etc. The Nvidia GeforceFX 6800 is a leap in performance like we haven't seen in a long long time from any card manufacturer. This card is unbelievable in terms of performance.
Looking at the benchmarks, you can truly see this GPU shine. Lower resolutions are generally CPU limited, but you move up to 1600 x 1200 res and this card really shows off the V12 under its hood.
Toms Hardware has an excellent review of the card.

I have faith in Nvidia again. It is about time.

The primary purpose of the DATA statement is to give names to constants; instead of referring to pi as 3.141592653589793 at every appearance, the variable PI can be given that value with a DATA statement and used instead of the longer form of the constant. This also simplifies modifying the program, should the value of pi change.

I'm with Nvidia too , Weaver. I think they made a success with the 6800 series.

Hrm it does look good. Lets see what ATI has to offer in the coming weeks...only then will people be able to make informed buying decisions. I mean unless you have a fierce loyalty to either company...

well yeah i can understand that. I dont have loyalties to companies, I think its misguided and likely to lead to wasted money. Better check out what is actually better at the time you are buying. And by better i dont mean on paper, i mean in "real world" operation...my advice is not to go and rush out an dbuy the first thing to hit the market....wait till all the items are out and serveral good comparison reviews are on the net...

ill read reviews first and if people seem to be having problems with it then i won't be getting it. i've read reviews for pretty much every part i want for the system and made the decision on some of them based on what people experienced with them.
