Iomega HDD 80GB USB2 Desktop Hard Drive

As some of you know I purchased this external hard drive to use for backup. It came with Norton Ghost 2003 and Iomega Automatic Backup. ^*^
Now I am wondering if I should partition this external hard drive as a "D" drive, and not use it simply for backup. The only problem is that I don't know if it is possible, nor how to do it. Also, I wonder if it is a good idea. :confused I would appreciate all opinions on this from my fellow members and friends. :yesnod:

An external harddrive is very good for backing up. You can partition the external into three partitions. One for Ghost images about 10g able to store about two images. Another partition for an OS about 20g, and a 50g partition for storing all your software, music and images. I found this setup to be the most organized.

OK unknowndarknessx that will clean my present hard drive of about 18GB which will lave me with about 90% free space which is great. Now all I need is some direction on how to partition the new external hard drive. :confused

Ed i think somewhere on the site Michel gave a complete rundown on Partition Magic. I know she used it herself at one time.

I'm not too sure if you can get anywhere with out a partitioning software. There might be a cd or floppy that came with your harddrive that will be able to partitioned the harddrive.

It's generally felt that to be on the safe side, you are better using a propriety Partitioning software package. You do not want to buy yourself problems trying other methods. :yesnod:
