Outlook express ... help?
ok i use outlook express to get my email ...
today i got a compact something or another blah blah message did not think anything of it so it compacted my email ... whatever that means...
i get back on later and all the sudden i am missing the last 2 months worth of emails .... i have no idea where they are i checked the deleted files they are not there i even logged onto my ISP site to manually check my email and well they have 0 emails on there so that was no help.
any idea what in the world just happened to the last 2 months of emails?
.....How can i soar with eagles when im surrounded by turkeys.....

Think of it this way. The email data is stored in a database format for OLE. When you receive an email and then delete it later there might be a blank line left in the database. Compacting it will decrease the size of the database and suppose to cleanup any erros. From the sounds of it, OLE pulled one on you and deleted your good data.
According to google, OLE is suppose to create a .bak file in your folder that your database is stored. You may can look there and see if that is so and hopefully you will have your emails in it.
What I did was goto google and search for: "lost outlook express emails after compacting"
Seems your not the onlyone that this has happen to.
