You can also copy both ntldr and NTDETECT.COM from your XP CD and paste them to where they should be and use notepad to makeup a new boot.ini and place it there.

On the ROOT of the drive/partition tagged (System), not in any folder.

Just to elaborate on the settings for Folder Options>View, you need to check "Show hidden files and folders" and uncheck "Hide protected operating system files". Hope that helps.

Does this look like I wrote the Boot.ini corectly? Do I need to add anything for the M drive into it? Both C & M are on #0 disk and D is on #1 disk
Again C drive is Windows 7 ultimate, D drive is Wondows XP Home, M drive is that little partition.
Is that little partition the place to also past the files?

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(2)partition(2)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Windows 7 Ultimate" /fastdetect
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Windows XP Home" /fastdetect

thanks again for the help

You don't use boot.ini for Win7 or Vista. Remove multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Windows 7 Ultimate" /fastdetect
