Well I found out why Crossfire wouldn't setup correctly (not at all) one of the new ASUS EAH3650 graphics cards is messed up. What is happening to ASUS, they are starting to put out crap.

to EXTREMEoverclocker the nvidia 790i and i believe the 780i have a video corruption issue that occurs when watching a dvd......so if you need sli support check up on this issue to see if it has been resolved.....if not and you don't need sli the intel chipsets are known to be more stable, run cooler and overclock higher so go for either x48 or x38 or p45.

I have been a ASUS MB fan for many years, I have used their Graphics cards a few times. Just a little miffed as this is the second graphics card in just a couple months.

I'm inclined to stick to an Intel chipset for Intel CPU's. The P35 chipset is good. Check out some of the mobo recommendations that were made HERE, but obviously for DDR2.

the video corruption also includes the 750i ftw boards, i know a couple of people that have one. intel is the best choice for chipsets right now, unless you need sli. p35 boards are good, i just bought an asus rampage x48 to replace my beloved p5k deluxe, wich is going to my mom, destined to spend its life at stock speeds. wich is for the best because ive punished this board like no other ive owned, and it took it like a champ. i think ive only run it for maybe a day or so of total run time at stock speed, this thing has lived for the last one year almost to the day with the fsb 50 75% over stock.

Edit:

thats 24/7, i only shut it off to clean it.

You will have to get DDR3 memory for that one, but I guess you know that. I got the P5Q Deluxe because I could still use my DDR2 Ram
