I have been watching this thing closely too.
It's actually a pretty small hurricane believe it or not, which might be why it's hanging together so well.
I suspect it'll weaken (that's almost a joke) back to a Cat 3 before hitting Cuba, and then likely hit Florida with Cat 2 stregth. Some here thing it'll hit Alabama, but I think it's going to cross Florida (because of a ridge in the South) and then reform off the eastern coast. Of course I am going out on a limb there, but that's what I am thinking.
TD 10 also formed this morning, but will likely be no harm to the mainland... it's curving to the North East in the Atlantic.
