Hello!

Did you try to see if your system recognizes some interfaces when you connect the device?
Just use "tail /var/log/messages" to see the last system messages. They don't change often so you should see some changes when you connect your device.
I'm not familiar with your card...is it a HSDPA modem or a 802.11g wireless card?

Good luck,
John!

I used a similar device (Huawei E220) with Ubuntu Hardy Heron 8.0.4.
However it didn't work out of the box. What I had to do was to remove the usbserial module.
I don't remember the exact steps but you should do something like :
Code: Select all
sudo su
//Most of the commands will require root acces
lsmod | grep usb
//Search for loaded usb modules. You should see something like airprime, usbserial, usb-storage. Try to remove usbserial, if it's in use remove the other modules that are using it (in my case it was airprime) so :
rmmod airprime
rmmod usbserial
//Remove your device and connect it again after a few seconds. Now you should be able to use your device with KPPP.

I've done this using Hardy Heron, I don't know if it will work with previous kernels, but its worth a try.
Good luck!

Best wishes,
John!
