NIC and W2K

NIC and W2K

Postby jrooth » Thu Jul 18, 2002 8:03 pm

Working on a laptop that is used both hardwired and wireless. Here lately the Hard wired NIC loses conectivity and the network is lost. However, the wireless has no such problems. (I do not use them concurrently). My first thought was a bad NIC. Changed it out with a known good NIC from my laptop, five minutes later same thing? Other than that, I see no problems with the laptop. Any ideas or suggestions?

Are you conecting to a W2K server? In that case, there is a setting to do autodisconnect aftera 15 minutes inactivity on the clients. You may need to change this.
Use:
net config server [/autodisconnect:time]

No, it is a laptop that is used on a peer to peer network.
