I don't understand -- "select the D: drive" ? where ? the first response to your OP suggested switching drives to get your dual-boot working again
Anyway, I am very glad you got the issue working -- although you should realise that during the course of following the advice given here, VistaBootPRO and any manual file copying you may have done might be the reason why your simple solution worked
