Cool. Alright, the first thing on the list is to open Disk Manager and Right Click on the Vista partition and select Active. This will make your Vista partition Active so you can do some further stuff to get it back.

Okay. Now try and reinstall the Vista Bootloader, reboot, and see if you can get into Vista.

jbullard - I may be missing something. I have no problem booting into Vista. Reinstalling the Vista Bootloader will fix my problem booting to XP? Please note that the Vista drive is not active (in fact the disk management screen is basically identical) when the smaller drive used for XP and everything works fine. I do see that under System Bootloader Maintenance that installing the Vista Bootloader uninstalls the Legacy Bootloader.

Note that I made one mistake previously. With the 500gb drive installed for XP (which means I can't boot to XP) when I go into VistaBootPRO and click on Manage BCD OS Entries and then click on Windows XP (which is red) the "change boot drive" is blank. When I click on Windows Vista "change boot drive" shows c:

Ahh. My bad. I thought you were unable to boot into Vista. Then, Yes. All you need to do is add the correct drive in VBP for XP and you should be set. After doing so I would suggest forcing a reinstall of the Vista Bootloader to ensure it properly picks up the XP drive.

Thanks very much for your efforts. Yes, the answer to my problem was exceptionally simple. Select the d: drive and voila - everything works as it should. I'm glad I figured it out. There was no need to force a reinstall of the Vista Bootloader. The location of the various boot files was not an issue and neither were any of the other issues.

I have to be 100% honest though. My experience trying to get accurate advise and direct responses to my questions could have been better.

I'm glad to hear that you finally got it working and my apologies for not seeing where you talked about the empty boot drive in your BCD settings. I think we just kept referring back to the original problem which confused you when we were trying to correct that. I will make sure that I read all the posts before starting to help troubleshoot.
