my cooling troubles

After all my well documented problems with cooling this GTX295 i have decided to re-case the PCnow all i wanted was a bigger case to get better air flow so i asked a friend if he knew where i could get a second hand case.

He just called at the house and dropped off a complete tower that he got for free (don't get cheaper than that) so i had a quick look inside and guessed it is about 7 or 8 years old, it has a D850GB motherboard and a petium 4 CPU still in situ plus a 500watt PSU and an ATI GPU (not sure which one for the moment) also 4 sticks of RAM a 128gb hard drive and a floppy unit, so all in all i am happy with my freebie.

Wow, 500W PSU! Not bad for that era at all. I really hope this helps but... Maybe try out the dohickey heat sink that Halo posted if the new case doesn't work out as well as you had hoped it might. It sure can't hurt.:)
