I am not sure what you mean by mount a drive to the desktop.
do you want the My Documents folder redirected to the server?

you want to automatically connect to network printers?

well, i just need to redirect "my documents" to the user's home folder, which is already mounted as Z.

Also, i just need to have it automatically mount the domain printers onto the user's printer folder upon logon

Thanks so much for all the help so far

do you have active directory set up? My documents redirection would be done much easier using the GPO.

are you looking to do something in login script with vbs file or batch file?

i do have active directory set up, and i was looking around in the policy and found the "My documents" redirect. Problem is, i want my documents to redirect to that specific user's home folder, mounted as z, but when i say redirect to E:\users\%username, it won't allow it. and if i change the group policy, it will make all users "my documents" just go to the same folder, for all users.

do i have to reference the gp to say "mount z:\ as my docs?"

also, i cant for the life of me figure out the stupid printer mounting. i put that script into both the gp logon script and the specific user logon script, with no luck

well thats what i don't know, heres what each users paths look like:

Profile: "\\server\Profiles$\aanderson"

Home(Z): "\\server\users\aanderson"

it won't let me just set z:\ in folder redirection in gpo
