Mouse dying

Mouse dying

Postby phileysmiley » Fri Oct 10, 2008 1:31 am

This is driving me crazy. All of a sudden my mouse operations have become diminished, and I don't know if it's my computer or the mouse.

I have rebooted -- no change.

I have not only changed the batteries but I have tried 10 different sets of regular and rechargeable batteries of several brands.

I have moved the wireless receiver to as close as one foot away. Nothing is blocking it or interfering with it as far as I know.

The mouse properties shows 100% battery and full wireless strength.

I have changed channels on the mouse.

It happens in FF, IE, and Windows Explorer itself. When I go to click something I often have to click multiple times to get it to work. Sometimes the right click menu won't come up the first time.

It's not a problem with the left-click button because I changed the right click to "click" and it doesn't help.

This has never happened before. My batteries often run out and all that happens is that it just stops working.. It's never anything like this. I've also never had anything happen like this even if the wireless signal is low.

Thanks. I just updated from 5.5 to 6.3.

I may also have figured out the problem. When I was cleaning the back of my desk making room for a new external hard drive, I had to reposition the receiver. I forgot to reset the signal.

So far it's okay but I'll see.
