My new interest in this subject comes from the show 'Lie to Me' and before that, 'The Mentalist.' I was having a discussion online with some folks and it dawned on me that being able to "read' folks probably comes from how we were raised. My family was typically always very suspicious versus trusting when it came to new people or situations; so I think I naturally picked up that. I also was taught to be extremely or hyper-aware of my surroundings and/or a situation. Combining the two allows you a very long time to read people (you try bc you initially don't trust them growing up) and perfecting your skills as you age. Today I usually trust people before I don't - but reading a person through their micro-expressions, voice or general body language can be both a blessing a curse. And women will love you for it at fist - but HATE it later.
