Not to mention destroying them is the WORST thing you can do. They are natures way of balancing the "heat budget" of the earth... they take heat from the EQ and move it towards the poles.

The solution is simple... make the heat go down.

I wonder if they found a way to make a cold bomb if that would work? :question

Say it did. The problem still exists that you've destroyed the storm.

What about the heat that didn't get moved or displaced? You've essentially just told mother nature to go "F" herself. That's a VERY bad idea.

The Dust Bowl was a good example of what happens when we say "screw Mother Nature."

We may think heat waves of 100-110 are bad right now... but if the jet was right, and the ITCZ shifted enough... we could have heat waves over 120-130F. NO one can survive that for long. All the water would disappear into the Atmosphere and then get dumped in mega monsoons god knows where. You'd be setting off a time bomb of proportions we can't even imagine. Super volcanoes are not even able to compete with that... but they are a good example of how one factor (dust) can set off major problems; aka dino's gone bye bye.

Ultimately Climate is a very deadly weapon if screwed around with.

And the more GHG's there are in the ATM, the more we store that heat... the more we trap it in. We are essentially microwaving ourselves.

Ok sorry I mentioned it.

I think this storm was a map changer storm, some places probably won't exist any more especially the area of south east LA that it made landfall with. If you look at that area with Google Earth there wasn't much land there any way.

LOL, sorry if I seem overly aggressive towards that subject, I had to defend it in my senior year in my Climate class.

I wish we could find a way to get rid of the storms... I hate how much damage they do cause. But I think the only real way to get rid of them is to become a more eco-friendly society.

Extra heat by humans definitely isn't helping the situation.

I completely agree with you there. :yesnod: Sucks that the deep pocket lobbyists are slowing that down. :-x

It's all politics... even some people who fight for non-eco friendly policy are infact environmental supporters, but it's all politics.

Things like Kyoto, etc should have been passed years ago. Alternative fuel should have been researched a decade ago and current fuel prices should never have even been like they are.

Oil is running out... we're starting to see that. In the years to come oil could easily jump to $10 or more a gallon, then what will we do? Our transportation infrastructure will fail and our economy will collapse if we're not careful. More oil isn't the answer... it's runnning out, it's expensive to get to now bc it's so deep, and it harms the environment.

By researching new fuel we could save money, save the environment (in part), and keep what fossil fuels we do have in-tact for emergency use.

Right now we're starting to hear that noise when you suck the last drop of soda out of the cup... eventually, we'll get nothing but air.

I feel awfull right now. I feel awfull and really sorry for all the people that lost their homes and maybe friends or family. This is very sad, i try to dodge the emotions that come with it but i can't.
