They said that particular oil rig had not been in use for some time. But I agree gas prices will rise again. I think Mr.Pres will release oil from oil reserve.

Out of the many news stories we watched last night, there was this one where a billboard completely uprooted, base and all, and toppled into a brick building next to it. And I'm not talking about one of those skinny billboards that are made of wood. It was one of those huge metal single column ones.

I just got an email from a coworker about his wifes family (from NO). It looks like their home is gone, or at least so mojorly damaged that it is unlivable. It is just horrible the amount of damage this caused. Do you think mother nature is trying to tell us not to live on the coast, below sea level :question

It just seems incredibly stupid to build a city below sea level near the sea. Who's idea is that? :confused

She is very po'ed with us! All these catastrophic disasters are happening more frequently. :no

Now this may sound very uneducated but what would happen say if we set off 5 or so of those Massive Ordinance Aerial Bomb (MOAB) into and around the eye of these things?

They might actual get more powerful Jason... these storms feed off power.

Not to mention destroying them is the WORST thing you can do. They are natures way of balancing the "heat budget" of the earth... they take heat from the EQ and move it towards the poles.

The solution is simple... make the heat go down.

I wonder if they found a way to make a cold bomb if that would work? :question
