I heard that report also. They are talking about water contamination due to the pumps failing. The water level grew to fast for the pumps to handle. I havent heard any national reports or seen anything online yet. Been up all night listening to this channel that was posted from philey.

They are saying that it is raining in the superdome, a guy on the phone live in it is saying that right now on that channel.

He said there are weird noises coming from the roof, a slapping noise he says.

Oh I saw that guy on tv talking about it but it was in a story that was taped before this and what he described happening was exactly what is happening now.

That's funny. Because I studied for 4 years to get a degree in Geology and we did learn a lot of acronyms, but I don't remember KYAGB. :no

Maybe John did? :question

I can't say in my years of Climatology and Meteorology that we came across that term, LOL. :P

BTW, this storm is still extremely dangerous and deadly. Some folks on some TV stations this morning were like "well now it's ONLY a Category 4." Ummm... still... run....

This storm could very well beat out Hurricane Alex from 1992 as the most destructive storm in history. It'll really depend on how hard NO gets hit. Right now I haven't heard anything on the damage to the city, but then again, the backside of the eye hasn't come on land yet either.

Look how close she is to NO. The major damage to NO now likely will come from the lake to the North of it... the surge will be pulled back into the city from the opposite direction.

I dont remember causing any damage in 1992?!? Sorry my name is Alex. Saw that and had flashbacks to childhood.

Now they say that there was a 3'x5' section of roof ripped of the SuperDome.

News on Foxnews right now, Shep Smith reported back that there is one levee break.

Also there is being reported lots of wind damage all over too.

Mean while the guy they have on now, Steve Herrigan, is crazy you should see him.
