I don't have to have direct military experience to study history or to read the daily news. So you have been or are a solider in Greece and that automatically makes you an expert on American military affairs?

I am an Officer in Hellas and that allows to know some things better.
I didn't claim expertise in anything , ever. But tell me , when it comes to war an American soldier would think in a different way than one of ours ?

Yes depending on person and circumstance. Also your culture is not the same as that of the US.

When they're in the thick of it, I think most soldiers all think about the same way...

Of course, we're talking about the generals who sit in rooms and talk, but even so they all make their decisions based upon the same factors in pretty much the same manner.

I'm sure that military school is a bit different from country to country and as i said there are cultural differences as well.

Sure when your being shot at the normal reaction is to shoot back, but that is more a reflex versus some type of cognitive thinking.

Juat a note here: The US military conducts joint training exercises on a regular basis with our allies in Europe and NATO partly to make sure that we are all on the same page when it comes to how we would handle a combat situation. It is one reason that the coalition worked as well as it did during the first Gulf War, as well as in the major combat phase of this war. Our soldiers are certainly among the most well-trained, but I don't believe that the armies of any of our allies are any less competent.

i didn't mean to sound like other soliders were less competent.

I just don't subscribe to the view that all soliders think and act exactly alike in any particular situation aside from the desire to survive.
