>>Had Bush and the Administration done their job, including the FBI, CIA, etc there would have been NO 9/11.

Nuff said.<<

Funny how the press doesn't talk much about how Clinton cut critical funding to the FBI, CIA and such during his tenure.

Last time i checked the USA is a sovergn nation and as such we don't need the permission of the "world community," the UN, or anyone else for that matter.

It comes down to trust. Bush has good people who are working for him on his team and in the CIA. He thought they had amassed enough solid information to base a calculated decision. Do any of you honestly think that Bush and his advisors didn't weigh heavily the options and scenarios before commiting over 100,000 troops to this?

First of all, the war was never expected to been this extended and complicated. And you have to remeber that Bush might have other agendas for the war. Including finishing his father's war.

Neither the Joint Chief of Staff, the Secretary of Defense nor the President of the United States acted according to well established emergency protocols. Acting Joint Chief of Staff General Richard B. Myers stated that he saw a TV report about a plane hitting the WTC but thought it was a small plane. So he went ahead with his meeting. By the time he came out of the meeting the Pentagon had been hit. Whose responsibility was it to relay this emergency to the Joint Chief of Staff?

The Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld was at his desk when AA77 crashed into the Pentagon. How is it possible that the National Military Command Center, located in the Pentagon and in contact with law enforcement and air traffic controllers from 8:46 a.m., did not communicate to the Secretary of Defense, also at the Pentagon, about the other hijacked planes especially the one headed to Washington? After he was notified, why did he go to the war room?

The actions of the President, while the attacks were occurring, indicate that he deliberately avoided doing anything reasonably expected of a President wanting to protect American citizens and property. Why didn't the Secret Service inform him of this national emergency? When is a President supposed to be notified of everything the agencies know? Why was the President permitted by the Secret Service to remain in the Sarasota elementary school? At 9.05, nineteen minutes after the first attack and two minutes after the second attack on the WTC, Andrew Card, the presidential chief of staff, whispered something in President Bush

Prior to 9/11, the US intelligence agencies should have stopped the nineteen terrorists from entering this country for intelligence reasons, alone. Fifteen of the nineteen hijackers' visas should have been unquestionably denied because their applications were incomplete and incorrect. Most of the 19 hijackers were young, unmarried, and un-employed males. They were, in short, the "classic over-stay candidates". A seasoned former Consular officer stated in the National Review magazine, "Single, idle young adults with no specific destination in the United States rarely get visas absent compelling circumstances."

There are several cases damaging to the credibility of the official accounts of 9/11. But the U.S. response to Mohamed Atta, the alleged lead hijacker, is most extraordinary. The FBI had been monitoring Atta

So its also a crime to not be able to foretell the future?

Where is ANY evidence that GWB was looking to finish "his father's war?"

Back it up man.

Report on Prewar Iraq Intelligence - finds that intelligence used by the Bush administration as a basis for the Iraq war was exaggerated, uncertain, and suffered from "group think." From the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, July 2004
____________________________________________________

Eight Main Symptoms of Group Think

Illusion of Invulnerability: Members ignore obvious danger, take extreme risk, and are overly optimistic.

Collective Rationalization: Members discredit and explain away warning contrary to group thinking.

Illusion of Morality: Members believe their decisions are morally correct, ignoring the ethical consequences of their decisions.

Excessive Stereotyping:The group constructs negative sterotypes of rivals outside the group.

Pressure for Conformity: Members pressure any in the group who express arguments against the group's stereotypes, illusions, or commitments, viewing such opposition as disloyalty.

Self-Censorship: Members withhold their dissenting views and counter-arguments.

Illusion of Unanimity: Members perceive falsely that everyone agrees with the group's decision; silence is seen as consent.

Mindguards: Some members appoint themselves to the role of protecting the group from adverse information that might threaten group complacency.

The Bush Administration is clearly capable of creating or allowing such atrocities to occur. Hitler was able to play the anti-communist card to win over skeptical German industrialists. Certainly the Bush family are not newcomers to melding political and business interests, they got their start as key Hitler supporters. Prescott Bush, father of George Bush Sr., was Hitler

It's not a crime but dumping everything on the CIA is just WRONG. Why can't Bush just be a man and admit that HE was wrong and exaggeratted the info. And should they blame the CIA for not being able fortell the fururte?

I think part of the problem was the country in a complete state of disbelief. I have heard the Air Traffice Controller and AirForce conversations. At first they thought it was some kind of training exercise. By the time the jets were scrambled and heading to NYC and Washington the WTC had been hit by both and the last plane was about to hit the Pentagon.

From everything i have head there are many people to blame for being "asleep at the wheel." Nothing like this had ever happened before in our country. Most Americans slept well each night with a false sense of security thinking that any terrorist activities happened overseas, particularly in the Middle East.

The President's response was appropriate. He didn't jump to his feet and look startled and panicked. He read for a few more minutes and then excused himself. It isn't like the President can call upon the power of God and bring all of the wrongs done away.

There are many people that have a personal hatred of GWB. If it wasn't this issue then they would be beating the dead horse of Enron or Haliburton. This "issue" is just the most buzzworthy heading into the Fall election.
