Benz makes a lot of cars we never get to see in the states, and that goes for most European and Japanese car manufacturers.

I wonder why? It can't be price... I mean just look at the hummers all around now. Then again.. there is a big differance between 200K and 60-140K.

John i have always been an enthusiast for cars and that is one luxury i always treated myself too. I have been fortunate to have driven and owned some top of the range European models for more than thirty years. One of my all time favorits was a Humber Sceptre of which i purchased in 1966. It was a quality car of the day and it was automatic which is quite rare in the UK at that time. The interior was all black leather and the dashboard was like an airplane's cockpit. This car could fairly travel, and i have to admit i was always speeding along in it to see how it would perform at its maximum.
Ahhhh memories are made of this. :yesnod:

I assume Deb means the guy in the sports car... not Mac, LOL.

Pretty cool stuff Mac. I also like cars... but never have had a lot of time to look into them in great detail. Me and my father always said we'd rebuilt one, but never have. We have two old 56 Chevy's his father owned. He did fix up a 1929 Ford A-Model (or maybe it's T-Model)... and that took him about 13 years. It's really cool though... especially when I see him driving it around, lol. Looks so out of place now.

John i love the Chevy's, that was a great period for them. If you rebuilt one of them, you'd make a fortune for it in the UK. They were well loved cars over here, and epitomised the teen bop thing at the time. :yesnod:
