Internet Type And Speeds

Postby ryaneverson on Wed Jun 09, 2004 11:18 am

I was wondering what type of internet you have and what your speed is. To test go to www.dslreports.com . Also can please add a reply to your up and down speed, monthly fee, location, type, and company. Thanks.

PS: Mine is 2.85 mbit down and 357k up. I have Charter cable in Flint. Michigan and pay $40 a month/

at home i have 56k dialup access and at school T1 access with ~2-2.5mbps down and ~3-3.5mbps up on average. dialup is aobut $15 a month at home and school is included in the expensive tuition. home is from a local company, tricountyi.net and school is through penn teledata i think. hopefully i'll have at least 512k dsl at home this summer but i don't know.

this the third time we are running same poll within few weeks, it is better to make sure the poll does not exist before making new poll.

by the way, BAZ i am on @home {Tilburg} too with 2560kbps, and the speed will be increased to 4000kbps come july 1st.

in the beginning, {A}DSL was reliable and speed was quaranteed, but due to the fact that competition and need to stay alive have always been a great problem for them. DSL providers have resorted in providing free and cheap USB modem which does not quarantee half of promised speed. and i believe that if they fail to formulate another game plan soon they will not stay longer in business

2004-06-10 15:04:52 EST: 10990 / 9155
Your download speed : 11254692 bps, or 10990 kbps.
A 1373.8 KB/sec transfer rate.
Your upload speed : 9375000 bps, or 9155 kbps.

according to nyc.speakeasy.net, this breaks the 5mbit barrier. ^*^

this is my school's connection during the summer, when no one is here
