This is a very strange problem.Open Internet Explorer and click to Help>About Internet Explorer you find the browser version is blank and get the following error:-

An error has occured in this dialog.

Error: 96
Unspecified error.

To fix this annoying problem there are two methods:-

First Method:-
Start>Run>type in:REGSVR32 MSHTMLED.DLL>Enter
Start>Run>type in:REGSVR32 JSCRIPT.DLL>Enter
Start>Run>type in:REGSVR32 /i MSHTML.DLL>Enter

Second Method:-
Reinstall Internet Explorer
