Has anyone ever had an image burned into their LCD.

I woke up this morning and went to search for something on one of my computers. I had left it on with the window to My Computer open and now that image and the sidebar with the clock, part of it is burned into the screen.

I changed the video card to see if that helped but no help.

I have heard of it, but it's pretty rare, as most newer LCDs have ways of avoiding the burn in; you could possibly look for one of those if your LCD does not have it (Burn in type of program to run in your OS) I "THINK" that they can at least help remove some of the burn in.......... I'll do a search too............. :yesnod:

This a Viewsonic VA912b 19" LCD, so it is not a cheap LCD or wasn't when I bought it at least.

Ok, I contacted Viewsonic and they said it should clear up if I leave it off for an extended period of time and should not be permanent .......................whew, I hope they are right

Maybe next time put the screen on a timer? :P It's still kinda weird that it only took an overnight exposure to do that.

I have a ViewSonic also and I left up my browser for awhile on my homepage. After I realized it, the image of the browser and page were burned in.

I have a program that automatically changes wallpapers (I don't like screensavers). So I clicked "show desktop" and after just a day or so it cleared itself up.

Now I just click "show desktop" whenever I'm done browsing (or minimize the window).
