For New Orleans, the morning after Hurricane Gustav was filled with exhales. For the folks at the National Hurricane Center, it was another day at the office

Let the panic begin... our state is already in "prep-mode."

Haha. I don't know, it's just one of those traditions -- whenever a big snowstorm is forecast (or even an inch or so) people rush to the store to buy up milk, eggs, and bread. Then on the 11:00 news they will have the requisite live shot of empty shelves.

The joke is that nobody can figure out why impending storms trigger the impulse in people to want to make French Toast! :roflmao:

I thought that was a RI joke.

The Blizzard of 1978. It was the original "Bread and Milk" storm.

I have a reaaal bad feeling about Ike. Cat 4 I think now and will stay between 3-4 as it approaches Florida. Models show it now curving north WAY before they originally forecast. Maybe it'll curve completely and go back out to sea.
