ideas for flash site

ideas for flash site

Postby Xstream » Mon Aug 09, 2004 5:22 pm

I was wondering what you all thought about something. I have this basic website that I made for a friend trying to break into country music
http://www.kevincastleberry.com

I would like to spruce it up a bit and use flash, I really like this guys site
http://www.jasonaldean.com/index2.html

I don't want to copy his site, I would like some ideas to make my site as nice as his. I am just starting to learn Flash, very basic grasp, but I'm doing tutorials every day.
any thoughts on design or tips?

I think you should go in the theme the author, kevin castleberry, and ofcouse, people will allways want to know how Kevin's music sounds like, perfect to do in Flash. Maybe I think of more later.

If you really don't get Flash, then take a class on it or look into the tutorials that come with it. I learned a bit about making web sites with Flash, such as using keyframes and making fading animation. I might be able to explain how if you're interested.

you can check out these flash sites that I was just playin around with while I was living in Singapore. I just put all kinda functions in them for fun one day, the sites arent any thing much but they show how useful AS is...

Also checkout http://www.flashkit.com/index.shtml if you haven't already...

If you have any questions about AS 1.1 or 2.0 feel free to ask me...

I did try a couple of tutorials for fun, and can do basic text effects with swf, but a full site seems complicated. I havent give up, but, I need a site within a couple of weeks, so I think a template is the way for now while I learn.
