Help... quick vbscript question

Help... quick vbscript question

Postby OrphicFireball » Wed Aug 25, 2004 5:27 am

Maybe one of you knows how to do this, or maybe one of you good "googlers" could fine this for me.

I need a vbscript that checks weather a specific string in the registry exists. I have a script that checks a value in the registry, but it fails when the key or string doesn't exist. Anyway I can handle the rest of the components I'll need (creating a key, checking the value of the key). I just need an If statement that checks whether the string exists, and doesn't fail if the key doesn't exisit either.

My script is due tomorrow, so if any one can find this simple if-then statement that I need, it will be greatly appreciated.

For now I'm just running, "on error resume", which skips it if it doesn't work instead of erroring out. This works ok, but if anyone finds a better way, I'm still interested.
