guide on installing aftermarket cooling...

Postby EXTREMEoverclocker on Fri Jul 04, 2008 11:57 pm

just curious if anyone thought it would be useful ... if so i documented what i just did when i installed mine earlier today ...

Installing after market air cooling:

Setup:
Accelero S1 Rev 2
8800GT

Stock temps:

Idle - 49c
Load - 61c

Accelero temps:
Idle - 40c
Load - 51c

First you need to unscrew all the screws holding on the present VGA cooler.

Once this is done you can flip it over and finish taking off the original cooler.

The most important part of doing this is cleaning off the old crap. Luckily all the memory pads came off with the heatsink so there is only a quick cleaning job for those. The GPU however looks like a mess. Time to bust out the Isopropyl Alcohol 99% and go to town on it :)

Ahhhh much better
