My guess is that none of the GM execs are going to say much of anything right now and will avoid any and all issues as much as possible. If they say just one thing wrong, even if they didn't intend the meaning, it could bring about more speculation about the company than there already is. They probably want to avoid announcing bankruptcy as long as possible to get as many of the details worked out internally as possible.
