Free ZoneAlarm ForceField (Beta)Tuesday Aug 12
ZoneAlarm will allow users to download the full version of its ZoneAlarm ForceField virtualized browser application for free on Patch Tuesday, the company said Friday.
"Half of all Web sites are infested with some form of malware according to recent studies, including many of the leading search, social networking and shopping sites," Check Point Software, which owns ZoneAlarm, said in a statement. "A majority of all new malware is released on the same day as the corresponding browser vulnerability is announced, illustrating that patching alone is not enough."
Users who go to the designated ZoneAlarm site at 6 AM PDT on Tuesday, Aug. 12 will receive a complimentary version of ForceField. The offer is good for twenty-four hours after the launch.
Normally, ForceField costs $29.99 to purchase (including a year's subscription of updates) and $19.99 thereafter for another year's subscription.
First announced in 2007, the heart of the ForceField system is a "bubble of security"

I've been using it since Tuesday and it seems pretty good. It is a layer of protection, but I did find one review that casts doubts on the software's ability to truly live up to it's claims.
