Free Running

Postby Armani on Thu Nov 18, 2004 4:48 pm

I recently saw a program on the sport of Free Running... Its amazing..
I'v been breakdancing a couple of years... But some of the things they do is simply incredible...
Basically, The key objective of parkour is to create a 'run' where a series of obstacles are overcome in a creative, athletic, fluid and acrobatic manner. The runs are typically composed of jumps, vaults, aerial spins, and wall runs, but the only real limit is the ability and creativity of the person undertaking the run (the traceur).
There has been a number of programs in the U.k. the most recent was JUMP LONDON where 3 Free Runners Went through the most famous landmarks in london..
Anyone see this?

Wow that is great! I can see many injuries happening. Reminds me a bit of skateboarding for some reason. Probably the urban setting.

There is a Scion commercial here in the US that has a couple free runners in it. The commercial advertises the Scion xA and xB and it is supposed to be a commercial organized by the freerunners. They do a few cool tricks and jumps.
