Postby Little Caesar on Wed Sep 03, 2008 3:41 am

Does anyone know of a way to get rid of the extremely annoying (for me at least) Bluetooth icon in the notification area of Vista? I

Check in your BIOS to see if you can disable it there...seems Windows keeps on finding it on startup and installing the drivers for it and that will/should prevent it from being installed again.

Alternatively you should be able to disable it in Device Manager, by right clicking it and selecting Disable and that should also remove it from the notification tray.

Good thinking, but i cant disable it because im using it all the time, got a dongle plugged in for file transfers and administration of my cell phone. The only thing i need is to get that fricking icon out of the notification area (and keep it out), but still have full Bluetooth functionality working.
