Electric Porsche 911 in production for 2009

Postby Grav!ty on Sat Oct 11, 2008 7:39 pm

The most beautiful car of them all has gone electric! It's bit slow with acceleration 0 to 60 mph in 7 seconds and a top end of 160 mph, but that's not bad for electric. Guess one would need to be conservative on power to achieve the 180 mile per charge range.

it's about time people started making E-cars more. Although I would never be able to afford it and i don't want to even start thinking about how much the batteries cost, especially with those distance and acceleration specs....

Wait until they get the batteries perfected. Then these things will really be awesome.

It's likely only going to be a Europe only thing, at least for a while. Auto manufacturers don't control the market in Europe like they do in the US. There is also a much greater market for them in Europe where 180 miles per charge can get you a lot more places and last quite a few more days compared to here in the US.
