Postby MikeH on Sun Jul 24, 2011 10:36 pm

Windows 7 x64 Ultimate pre installed. Installed windows XP Pro x 32 on separate drive. All drives are SATA. Followed instructions, nothing shows up in manage OS screen. All files required by xp show up in root drive. If more info is needed I can get specific.

When you say that you followed instructions, did you follow this guide?

install-windows-xp-in-dual-boot-with-pre-installed-windows-7-t112568.html

Either the guide above or this one may help.

Have tried using both of these guides with no luck.
This is what I am looking at right now.
I am up and running in Win 7.All drives are installed.
C:\Win 7 OS
E:\ Win 7 System Reserve
D:\ DVD Drive
F:\ 2T Storage Drive
G:\ 2T Storage Drive
H:\ XP Drive ( not showing up as system drive in disk manager)

Can you advise on how to proceed?

Can you post an image of your "Disk Management Screen" here is a guide on how to post and image, it says image shack but I prefer Photobucket myself; how-to-post-an-image-at-pronetworks-t112572.html

and copy and paste the boot.ini file here.

Also when you say that the files required by XP are showing up in the root drive, which one are they showing up in, and are you talking about "boot.ini, NTDETECT.com and ntldr
