Ooh, I was willing to blow the 8.04 away but 9.04 asked if I wanted a side by side install. YES!!!! :yahoo:

What is your impression of the OS guys? A big improvement over the previous release as far as usability goes?

Can't really give it a fair evaluation as I only ran it briefly in a VM to see how it did with SMP folding,, it didn't fair as well as the older version I was using, so I went back to the older one for now.

I'll backup all my stuff and install it to the system in my sig a bit later. I'm quite keen to see how it's improved :yesnod: The last version I installed was 7.10 about this time last year.

Do you mean the year prior (2007)? 8.04 would have been out by this time.

I meant the year prior because the 7.10 version was released in October (10) of 2007 (7). But it makes sense if you were using it in March. Anyway, sorry for the confusion lol.

Yeah 8.04 was only released April 2008. I don't know why I gave it a miss

I just started as my joy got killed when I got the dreaded bad CD or optical device error. Aaarrggghh!! :-x Anyways I reburnt it at X1 this tine instead of X4 and it loaded. It's too early to count PPD yet but but both cores are almost pinned so that's a good sign. :yesnod: I'll continue this in the DC forum when I have more info.
