Do An Unattended Installation

XP has the ability to do an unattended installation, so you can simply prepare a script that will answer those dialogs and let you spend some quality time with your family. To perform an unattended installation ,you just need to work with the setup manager, which is located on the Windows XP CD Rom in D:\Support Tools\Deploy.Cab by default; extract the contents of the file and you will find a number of useful tools and help files, findour Setupmgr.exe.This is a very simple wizard application that will take you through the process of creating an answer file winnt.sif that can be used to guide Windows XP setup through the unattended installation. Remember setup manager does not add product key .Simply open the notepad and add:- product Id="AAAAA-BBBBB-CCCCC-DDDDD-EEEEE" You will have to substitute your actual product key for the string listed above. Then just copy Winnt.sif to a floppy, put your Windows XP CDRom in the CD Drive and reboot. When the CD autoreboots,it will look for the unattended .txt file in 'A' automatically ad use it to answer the setup question in it. Please remember that this will wipe out your system. So backup first and then proceed. :D
