Whats an Easy way to Format my HD for Windows XP?

I think the best way is to go to your hdd manufacturer's web site and see if they have a hard disk formatting utility available. If not a dos format utility is available. Boot from an xp or win98 boot disk. At the command promt type " Format C: ". then confirm. One thing, I found, that with fairly big hdd's the dos formatting utility " format C:" has trouble recognising large hdd's. So the hdd's manufacturer's utility will be best...

There is no reason at all to format your harddrive before installing. After booting from the WinXP CD, setup will present you with a menu that allows you to pick the partition, select between FAT32 and NTFS and subsequently format the partition.
