code to copy folder contents

code to copy folder contents

Postby e to the x » Wed Feb 21, 2007 1:00 am

Hey all I am looking for the code I would need to write in order to set-up a scehduled task to copy the contents of a folder to another folder.

My client want to monitor her daughters net usage, and I have set-up deadAIM to log her conversations as requested, but I want to add another layer of security by copying the log files everyday should the daughter get the urge to delete said log files.

TIA.

p.s. I am assuming this will be a .bat file but if not let me know.

Well thats a nice tool and all. But its not automatic. This lady doesn't want to have to do it. I want to be able to have it run everyday at a certain time so it can copy all thew new logs. So can someone help me with this?

Schedule SyncToy
While you do not have to schedule SyncToy to use it, some users may find it helpful to schedule recurrent SyncToy runs. Perhaps you have a folder pair that takes a long time to sync and you want to run SyncToy in the middle of the night, for example.

SyncToy does not provide a user interface to schedule folder pairs to run at designated times. However, there is a method to schedule tasks using the Microsoft

Ah I got it. She's not gonna be happy. I had to set a password. I guess its up to her to decide if she wants to be more secure about hat her daughter is doing and in general on the compter or if she'd rather not punch in some keys to log on...
