Burning the Windows Vista ISO to DVD

Using Nero Burning Rom

Fully functional trial versions of either Nero 6 or Nero 7 Premium may be downloaded directly from Nero (it is recommended that you uncheck the Yahoo toolbar selection box).

Or you could use CDBurnerXP which has the benefit of being free ^*^

Just run the program and select from the file menu: "Write Disc from ISO file". Then select the image and you're good to go.

If you happen to just have nero express installed (a lot of burners include nero express) then just open it up,

click on image, project, copy tab

then click disk image or saved project

browse to the ISO, click OK, and check the box that asks for data verification (this will save a lot of headaches later)

and away you go....

enjoy :)

Let me post a warning for those going to use Nero.

There are cases (you can find it in the net as well) when Nero doesn't do the job well (cyclic redundancy check).
In my practice, I burned 4 copies of Vista on three different media and two different burners (in all cases used Nero 7). Result was the same - DVD-Rs thrown away.

I was already going to download it again from MSDN, when I turned to good old Alcohol, which did it perfectly from the first time. I am still using that copy.
I did not check other burning software.

DVD Decrypter will also burn the ISO, and it is also a free program. I have burned hundreds of ISO's with it and as long as I use good media (like Verbatim) not one bad DVD.

ImgBurn (by the author of DVDDecrypter), gets the job done pretty well too and is one of the best freeware burners out there in my opinion :yesnod:

I believe you can take all the above posts and be safe to say, use what works for you. I personally have never burned a coaster with Nero, while I had nothing but problems with Roxio. Alcohol has also caused me more than a few headaches. So the bottom line is, what works for one doesn't necessarily work for another. Use what you're comfortable using and burn away.
