"i'm not a movie maker. All i did was spend a few minutes with google to show that MM is NOT the honest, outstanding guy that some would like to make him out to be.

But ignorance is bliss."

look johnliscomb, in this whole thread you made no sense, no point, no reason, nothing.
I think Moore has more ethics of a real Amercan than the whole Bush Image family. I tried to negotiate with respect and reason, but you have no point. so shh....

I never expected to convince anyone who is not capable of being objective or intellectually honest.

You have shown yourself to be neither time and time again.

why do you have to choose a side before reading something. can't you just go into a conversation with no opinions or bias and then choose your side from there? that would seem to me to be the best option but my opinion certainly doesn't reflect yours.

That would mean that you have an OPEN MIND.

There are two things about the movie that got my attention, and folks... I haven't even seen it yet, but I've heard A LOT about it.

Here's the two things.

Two clips, from an exhaustively researched sequence, sum up the film's central message. The first is from a speech by President Bush:

"There's an old saying in Tennessee. I know it's in Texas, probably Tennessee, that says 'Fool me once [pause], shame on, shame on you. [Long pause] Fool me. [Pause] You can't get fooled again."

That is the familiar picture of Bush the buffoon, tripping over his tongue to our amusement. I posted the video to that a few months ago... http://www.windowspro.dns2go.com/MISC/Bush.mpeg

But the second clip, of the president at a black-tie fundraising dinner, is more chilling. Addressing a room full of businessmen, Mr Bush smoothly declares:

"This is an impressive crowd, the haves - and the have-mores [Laughter]. Some people call you 'the elite'. I call you 'my base'."

This is Mr Bush the ideologue, relaxed and comfortable with his closest allies: the rich and the right. Do you think ANY of us here are have-mores? Hell no...

Mr Moore's film deftly makes the transition between these two views of the US president, shifting the tone with a tactful handling of the events of September 11 and some shocking footage of the dead and dying in Iraq. So far Fahrenheit 9/11 has played to packed movie houses in the US, including states that will be crucial battlegrounds in the coming election. Partial and selective the film may be, but it makes a compelling case.

Mr Moore's techniques are certainly no worse than those adopted by the right's Rush Limbaughs and Anne Coulters in hammering away at Bill Clinton's presidency. Mr Clinton survived, and even prospered into the 1994 election. Can Mr Moore's film affect November's election? Maybe it can, maybe it won't. You have to take it with a grain of salt.

But clearly, even with a biased angle, ANYONE can walk away with some of this movie on their mind and ask, "WHY?"

We do read the information before we make up our minds, how bout MM. He makes up the information before he claims it as truth?

By the way, I thought this horse would bhave been long dead by now.

Well, go read the articles. I actually gained confidence in my opinion, after reading it. :)
