BartPE and Bootable Technician disk

Postby NT50 on Sun Oct 02, 2005 10:54 am

I have been using Linux live boot disk to boot a customers computer and transfer the files over my network for backup. I have been very successful using these disk and will probably keep doing so.
Well I have found some other ways. First I look at ERD commander. VERY EXPENSIVE, VERY.
So I decided to venture futher and did some research. I found Bart's PE builder. I have used some of his software in the past creating bin files for making bootable XP disk after slipstreaming.
I created the default BartPE builder disk and liked it. I'm am now in the middle of creating a disk with AV support, and a few other utilities. I'm searching for a password recovery utility right now to intergrated in the utility disk.

I would suggest anybody who is into PC repair and backup to try this. You might find it a very usefull disk to have.

My hats tips to Bart's PE builder. As far as I'm concerned he is a genius for doing this. You can go here to look into the utilities he has created.

Found this today also....

Reatogo

I have not tried it yet but will probably this afternoon.

This might help some of my headaches when backuping up infested computers. Since I have to try several different flavors of Linux Live to see which one will work or not. It seems tho that Unbunto works on most everything. Even the older computers.

PS...
I have not got my BartPE disk to work with my wireless yet. working on it though.

Yeah, I found that about a month ago and I've been working on building a custom disk ever since. :yesnod:

That thing really could be a life saver. :yesnod:

The thing that had me really frusturated for the first little while was that all the servers that I could find that had the NOD32 plugin for BartPE were down. :roleeyes
Finally got it, though. :yesnod: ^*^

I have also incorporated this into my CD and looking at making several modifications to it. I 'm looking to add more driver support for network card etc etc.

Here is the link to the site I found.... http://www.ubcd4win.com/
