Anyone here playing the VanishingPoint game

Postby kanaloa on Mon Jan 08, 2007 4:54 pm

Just curious if any of you are playing?

I got one of the boxes with a memory stick (never looked at it, some kind of code I think). Seen a few folks around the net really into this... others could care less.

It looks pretty cool, but I'm confused... what are you supposed to do? It seems to be counting down to CES maybe... but I dunno what I'm supposed to do....

Edit: Just typed the coords into google earth... seems like some casino pool or something. What's that supposed to mean..?

Yeah it ties in with the cameo of the Casino on the Keynote last night. They slipped it in when doing that document restoration ;)

That must be the first vanishing point.

The grand prize for this is a trip into space. Other prices include laptops like several of us bloggers received (only ours were <a href="http://www.pronetworks.org/forum/viewstory.php?t=87006">review items</a> from Vista, Acer, and AMD - they were not prizes. Just wanted to clarify that.)

Explain what I have to do! I'm just sitting here watching a timer, I want a lappy and a trip to space!

Like, does that game start when the timer reaches 0 or is that the end of something?

I don't fully understand the contest myself. Neowin has like a 107 page thread on it. I think it'll become more clear tonight.

Hmm, OK, these puzzles are confusing! We should do em together.

John, are you playing? I already signed up, but if anyone else wants to sign up, either say that I referred you (I believe you can just use my username, ar1stotle) or if John wants to post his use that one. No point in not using a referrer address.

LOL, I haven't signed up yet. No time really. I think you get 20 points for referrals too.

I agree we should play. We're already kinda behind, but better late than never.

How are we behind? Didn't it just start??? I'm trying to figure out these puzzles and I dunno if I'm just looking at them wrong or what but I'm confused on how we're supposed to answer them. The sundial one... you can change the time it reads, so what is the answer supposed to be?

They are confusing... I think we need the video from the live event, which isn't up yet.

This started weeks ago. Several of us got boxes with a memory stick inside. It had a video or code we had to solve. I never even did mine, LOL
