i think its kind of like the optimization package in fireworks mx. i haven't really used it much, but i think its mainly for web graphics.

it allows you to slice your adobe design into tables and export it to HTML good tool to make layouts thats what i used for both injunfarian.com and www.selectaz.com

It also allows you to select the type of compression (where applicable e.g. jpeg, tiff etc), the amount of compression, the number of colours in your palette (less colours means more compression but less quality) and allows you to preview the options side by side.
