I know you probably already found an answer by now, but this thread needs an answer.
Assuming you're text line is getting sent to the browser,

$creds_text = ( 'Copyright 2011 &copy Your Business / Custom CMS and Site Build by <a href="http://www.yoururl.com">YourUrl.com</a> ');

That should be what you're looking for.
