Last Thursday, Microsoft finally released the official, full, nonbeta, non-Release Candidate Internet Explorer 8 to a decidedly mixed reception.

At a time when the campaign to kill IE 6 and the capability to turn off IE 8 in Windows 7 are getting more media attention than the browser itself, the new version nonetheless rates an impressive five stars from Download.com.
