2nd monitor res problems

I set the 2nd monitor to show full screen and the 1st to black out. I set the res too high for the 1st monitor. I can't change the res unless the 2nd is plugged in, in which case it shuts the first off. Can anyone help me?

See if you can boot to safe mode and set resolution there................................

1. Sometimes Pressing the left CTRL key during boot up in windows can reset graphics back to defaults!

2. Or reset the resolution in Safe Mode as NT50 mentioned...
