The UN grilled Michael Douglas (yes the actor) on Wall Street woes. One reporter even called the actor by his charactors name from his movie Walll Street, as if his fictional charactor was a real person and was an authority on the subject.

Brings to mind a line from one of the Back to the Future movies, when Michael J Fox tells Christopher Lloyd that Ronald Reagan was the President in his time, and Lloyd responds "The Actor" LOL

Michael Douglas is a competent enough actor, but I don't think he is someone I would go to for answers to the Wall Street crisis.

Yeah, thats the main reason I don't watch the news anymore. If an actor from hollywood has an opinion that is worth more than someone with a phd that shows that there is something seriously wrong with the world.

With all due respect, what does this have to do with the news?

lol, oops, didn't catch the UN part. yeah... substitute UN for news and my opinion is unchanged. also to answer your question, "One reporter even called the actor by his charactors name from his movie Walll Street, as if his fictional charactor was a real person and was an authority on the subject." reporters nowadays are idiots, that's why i don't watch the news.
