Make your own ad! Considering the response they have already had about the Seinfeld ones, this can't get any worse! lol

I'm a PC!

I don't get why they never used Ballmer, he'd be great with his energy. Maybe his doctor told him to stop it before he got apoplectic! lol

Developers, developers, developers...! :roflmao:

I like their "I'm a PC" ads. I think they hit at the heart of the Microsoft using PC stereotype that Apple has concocted. Apple wants you to believe that if you use a Mac, you are cool when the fact is, you give up some freedoms with a Mac. You slip into a world where Apple decides what is best for you and your computing needs and for accepting your fate by purchasing a Mac you get a good looking machine that you will pay more for.

If you want to do on your computer what Apple thinks you should, then a Mac works great for you. If you want to choose your hardware, software, games, network, etc., a PC is the way to go and these ads show that there are many cool people that use PCs.

Apple has gotten away with not telling the whole truth in their ads for too long and Microsoft is trying to set the record straight. Not that Apple is doing anything bad by favoring themselves in their own ads, but Microsoft is finally responding by saying that Mac does not equal cool.

heres my ad:
Hi, I'm a pc and I'm frozen right now due to a driver error and I have a virus that is causing me to reboot all the time and since I don't have a backup system you will lose all of your files. When I'm put to sleep its hard to wake up without my network card freezing. I'm so slow because I don't have enough memory and too large of a hard drive I'm having trouble paging through. Behind all my flashy graphics and cool name I'm full of bugs and other problems that will make your life miserable.
so that is me a PC.

btw..macs are cool and they own a huge share of the graphics industry and the reason their so popular with college students is because they don't have all the errors and viruses like vista does.
I own a pc and a macbook and I don't think of myself as cooler than anyone for owning either of them.
they are just marketing to young people and want to create an image for themselves. nothin wrong with that.
the beauty of business is competition.

It's a joke, geez. rolleyes

Let's just say the Windows PC that I repaired that had the most viruses and virus related failures was, as I found out later, because the guy downloaded a lot of porn.

I have had nothing but success with Windows. I run Windows Server 2003 on an old Dual Pentium III and I have three XP Professional clients (my PC, my wife's PC, and the media center) and I rarely, if ever, have trouble with them. I never get viruses because Nod32 catches them and I have had one Blue screen in the past 6 years that had to do with the poorly written drivers (from Belkin) for my Bluetooth dongle.

I do everything on my PC including video editing and compression, music compression, video games (Hitman 2, Medal of Honor, and Need for Speed Most Wanted are the latest), picture editing, test operating systems using VMWare (including Windows Server 2003 with a couple XP clients, Vista Beta, Windows Home Server Beta, Ubuntu, and Fedora Core), etc.

From your previous post, it seems that you may not know much about Vista and that is why you don't like it. You took the worst case scenario of an ignorant Windows user and tried to make it seem like that is a normal Windows machine. This is the mind set that Microsoft is trying to get rid of with these ads. All Windows operating systems have a backup system, but ignorant Windows users don't use it, so Windows Vista added a backup program called Shadow Copy (also referred to as Previous Versions) that was out long before Apple's Time Machine. Ignorant Windows users also think that the grass is greener on the Mac side because "there are no viruses or bugs on Macs", which is far beyond the truth.

The term used by many in the industry for the low amount of viruses for the Mac is "Security through Obscurity". Macs have not been popular except in the past few years. The more popular they get, the more viruses, trojans, mal-ware, etc. will be written for them. Apple still denies there is an issue and as long as they do, it will be easier to infiltrate Macs.

The reason Macs are considered "so popular on college campuses" is clever marketing mumbo jumbo. Every Mac is sold by Apple, but there are more Windows notebooks on campus than Macs. So how can Apple get away with saying that Macs are the most popular? Since not every PC is made by Sony or Dell or HP, Apple is the most popular brand even though Windows PCs in total (Dell + Sony + HP + ASUS + etc.) are still king.

I haven't had any serious issue with Vista in almost 2 years that I have had it, not even driver wise. I have it on a miriad of machines and have loaded it on all flavors of builds, from the lowly to the most high end.

I build on average around 10 systems a week, and most are with Vista.

People like to complain, and forget the headache that XP was at first. XP was just as buggy, driver wise as Vista has been, but for some reason peoples memory have contracted alzheimer's when it comes to that.

For what it's worth, I thought the new PC ads were very good compared to the Seinfeld stuff.

I couldn't figure out what the Seinfeld stuff was selling.

Bill Gates and Seinfeld were selling PC's?
