im having some trouble with my windows machine. like 2 days ago it hung and then turned off..now today it turned off and wont turn back on. i unplugged it and plugged it back in and that didn't work.
my guess is the power supply. i had this same problem last year where my power supply died..it was a nice one too. then becuz i didnt have enough money i bought a cheaper generic one so i dunno anymore. im tired of putting money into these stupid computers.

im sure it is. i might be under estimating the amount of power my computer needs. either that or i have a feeling it might have been zapped by a power spike that happened recently either way.

It's a shame but the old adage "You get what you paid for" really does ring true, especially where electrical items are concerned.
Cheap goods normally means that the components that are used in it's construction are also cheaper due to being of a lower quality. The more you pay, the better the quality.
It's not ALWAYS the case but it certainly tends to be, nine times out of ten.
What's the wattage of the current PSU and the one you had previously? As a pointer, I recently upgraded from a machine with a similar spec to the one in your Sig and I was running a 650w PSU and it was fine.
